with a traditional perspective and another that's more modern. take a look.
the traditional crafts workshop at the buk chon hanok village is showcasing metal objects
from the goryeo dynasty in an exhibition that continues until june 30th.
there are nine metal artifacts on display showing the culture traditions and religion
of the goryeo dynasty.
these objects contain symbols of the people's beliefs -- from confucianism to buddhism to
daoism.
nine other metal objects that were created more recently are also on display.
bukchon traditional crafts workshop curator lee ji-yeon said that the exhibition aims
to portray the ways in which the artistic styles of the time have been passed down from
past to present.
this exhibition shows visitors how the art styles and techniques of the goryeo dynasty
are being used in modern day society and how the patterns on the objects represent the
lifestyles of the time in which they were made.
artworks illustrating technological advances and the modern art of the 21st century will
be on display at culture station seoul 28 4.
the artworks on display are created using different media such as film and photography
.
curator seo jin-seok explained.
artists who work in different genres -- film photography fashion architecture music and
painting -- have created artworks to show that art forms in the 21st century have no
boundaries.
